I have a 2013 Cutwater 28 with only 290 hours. I was getting oil in the engine compartment/bilge and today problem was diagnosed as turbo failure. Oil was being pushed from the turbo (turbo bearing lubrication) to the cooler when run at higher rpms and dripped out of the cooler vent hole (small hole in bottom of the cooler) and accumulating in the engine compartment/bilge. Now I am looking at replacing the turbo and cleaning the cooler. Don’t have the estimate yet but sure it will be a big bill.
The low hours are due to previous owner not using boat very much and spent significant time in storage.
Has anyone else experienced turbo failure at low hours and did Volvo assist with repair?
