Hello All,
A couple electrical questions for someone better with electrical than me:

1. During a recent cold snap, I had accidentally flipped off the battery charger off.. Boat ( 2015 R-25SC) had been unconnected to battery charger for a about 3 weeks. House batteries and starter battery went way down, but came back with "on" charger after 24 hours. Everything ( Garmin, house lights , nav lights , wipers , VHF, etc) works now except the Fusion radio. Has anyone had similar issue? All four batts replaced year and a half ago.

2. Does any R-25 SC owner out there in Tug Land know how to tell which of the four batteries is which? ( without disconnecting). I think there are two house, one thruster and one starting. They are all identical and I can't find any wiring diagram or information anywhere.

Thanks!

We ordered a R29S in September and sold our 2015 R25SC thereafter so I am doing this from memory. I recall that the red cables to the batteries were labeled, if not it was relatively easy to trace the cables into the compartment with the battery switches to tell which batteries were which. In any event, the two house batteries are the two that are connected together with the red cable in the battery compartment (my recollection is that they were the two forward batteries). In our 2015 the engine battery was the one that was a starter battery rather than a deep cycle (but if yours were changed that may no longer be the case)(I think the engine was the aft one closest to the keel and the thruster battery was the aft one on the port side) (go back to the second sentence above and trace the cables into the switches to be sure).
Our Fusion 700 radio also died this past summer for no apparent reason. There is a reset switch (check the owners manual for location but I think it was on the back of the faceplate when pulled off). Push it with a ballpoint pen or paperclip and it may bring your radio back to life. Ours acted like it was coming back to life but froze in what appeared to be the on mode but would do nothing. After numerous attempts to reset it, I talked to my dealer and was advised that some of the Fusion 700 radios died for no apparent reason and there was no good fix. I ordered the new version, Fusion 755, and found it was a simple project to replace. (Simple ever way except in your checkbook.) The 755 version was plug and play. It fit the old cutout in the dash exactly. I think it took me less than 15 minutes to replace. The new 755 worked perfectly and was a nice upgrade. When I was ordering it in August 2020, I found the best price was from Hodges Marine and they shipped it promptly, so I would use them again if needed.

Here is a link to the R-27 manual.... the wiring schematics are practically identical, including the battery placement diagram on page 14. viewtopic.php?f=7&t=1550

Thanks snydzy. Based on the owner's manual, my recollection of the battery placement was correct.
Another idea: If I recall correctly the radio has two fuses one in the glove box and another one behind the dash. You might check both of those first.

We just replaced our old Fusion radio for the latest and greatest and of course during the process blew one of the 3 amp inline fuses near the batteries. Pulled both and saw was fried. Replaced and voila. All good. Good luck.
