Delamination

Question, I was looking at an RT very seriously and the boat a late model 2018 has some delamination issues. I wonder how many of these boats have had issue. In addition, the selling agent stated he sees this too frequently in this brand. Did you have your boat professionally surveyed or a moisture test completed prior to purchase? I searched the web but couldn't find a lot of information on this topic. Part of me thinks it is isolated to a few cases otherwise I would be able to find more compliants.

I purchased a 2019 R29-CB in February of last year. It was commissioned in Aug 2018. I had it professionally surveyed and no issues were noted.

Our '09 RT 25 was surveyed in 2018. There were no issues with delamination or moisture anywhere. There have been none seen to date.

This subject has been discussed on this site numerous times! The latest was by SeaLeggs on 28-Feb of this year under the title of fiberglass separation. This problem is well known to the boating industry and not limited to any one brand. I've been told it's fixable and should not detour your decision on purchasing a boat, however I would not spend my money on a known problem unless it was discounted and I knew what was required to get it to like new condition.
