We are in the midst of building a lift for our R25 Classic. Contractor asked were there any transducers that might interfere with the bunks' placement. Exactly where is the depth sounder transducer on the R25? Are there any other transducers that we might do well to know about where bunks might fall? Joe Lane - Nixie R25 Classic

If you have a stock boat your transducer is inside the hull and does not protrude through the hull. Ranger will not drill for exposed transducers to my knowledge.

Hi Joe,

I wanted to confirm that unless changed by a previous owner, the stock transducer was installed inside of the hull and will not protrude below the boat. On the 25 Classic, the transducer was installed in the stbd cockpit compartment, back by the transom.

Thank you,

-Tim

I just want to add to your question of where the transducers are located. The thru Hull pick-ups need to be taken into consideration too. We had a Custom trailer built for our C26. The Manufacture of the trailer used a different C26 to set up bunk location. When we took delivery of boat and trailer we launched the boat, Sea trial and then loaded the boat on the trailer. After pulling it out of the water, I did a walk around and noticed that both the engine and marine air thru hull pick-up were sitting on the trailer bunks and the keel was sitting on the Axel carriage cross over support. In our case it was a bit of an issue everything was welded. The trailer manufacturer stood by and made repairs as needed. If complete dimensions were taken of our specific boat this could have been prevented.
