Hi all! It's time to open registration for our cruise up to Desolation Sound. The Desolation Sound Cruise has gotten so popular over the past couple of years that we've had to make a tough decision in order to keep the opportunity open for as many of our customers as possible. This year's Desolation Sound Cruise is only open to customers who have not yet taken their boat on the cruise before. We wish we could have the entire fleet join us, but dock space is very limited.
Please note, the Desolation Sound Cruise is open-ended. The factory-led portion of the trip ends at Gorge Harbor. Participants should plan to stay up in Desolation Sound on their own or with buddy boats to explore and play beyond Gorge Harbor. Prerequisite for the cruise is participation in the Points North Seminar and Poets Cove/Maple Bay Cruise. Thank you!
Now, the fun stuff! Make the exciting journey north to beautiful Gorge Harbour with the Ranger Tugs & Cutwater Boats factory team!
The first official stop of the cruise will be Comox Harbour located on the East Side of Vancouver Island. We will be staying at the Fisherman’s Wharf. Comox Harbour authority can be reached on VHF channel 66A for your slip assignment. Comox has several restaurants within a short walk and is also a great place to provision. http://comoxharbour.com. Our Canadian Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats dealer, Port Boat House will host a fantastic salmon BBQ one night in Comox!
Our second stop is Gorge Harbour Marina on Beautiful Cortes Island. The Gorge Harbour Dockmaster can be reached on Channel 66A for slip assignments. http://www.gorgeharbour.com/index.html Volvo Penta will be treating us to a beachside BBQ dinner in Gorge. It's a special time sitting in the afternoon sun with new friends, enjoying a meal and staring across the shore at 45 Ranger Tugs and Cutwater Boats in one of the most beautiful settings in the world. We love it!
Note: you do not need to make moorage reservations at Comox Harbour or Gorge Harbour. We have reserved the dock space and will submit our registration list to them prior to our arrival but you will be responsible for paying your moorage and power at each marina.
This year we're adding a new event for the boats that are cruising from the Washington state. We'll have a captains briefing at Cap Sante Marina on Wednesday, July 24th at 5:30 pm. We already have the moorage reserved with Cap Sante for the evening. We'll organize into groups at the captains briefing and depart at the same time the following morning. These groups will stay together at a TBD marina on Thursday night. The factory will reserve everyone’s moorage at the TBD marina as well. Please tell us in your registration if you will be joining for Wednesday and Thursday nights.
Points North Seminar and Poets Cove Cruise are a prerequisite for Desolation Sound Cruise. Desolation Sound Cruise has very limited capacity. We hope you can join us for this fun and rewarding cruise!
