Yesterday, with the help of Bruce and Vickie, Destiny dropped down through the lock from the fresh waters of Salmon Bay, to her new salt water home in Shilshole Marina. She will be moored here until a permanent location can be found above the locks.
The first night in Shilshole was indeed interesting. With the railroad tracks being a qtr mile away, through out the night you would hear the clackity clack as the trains moved up and down the track. No complaint though, love the sound of the train. This morning I awoke to the sound of the fog horns of the ships plying Puget Sound. Without even getting out of bed, I knew we were encased in a blanket of fog. Sure enough, once I crawled out of bed, visibilty was less than a qtr mile.
You have got to love the sound of commerce moving about the water and tracks!
