We got Slipaway out last weekend for our first time, and what I think may have been it's first trip in 2 years. When we bought her the previous owner said she had a full tank of fuel. It turned out to be more like 3/4 full. He was good about annual maintenance and I assume he put Sta-bil in the tank when he winterized her. She ran fine (until she didn't as mentioned in a different post) but I'm curious if I should add anything to the fuel now to ward off any issues with older fuel. Are fuel additives, conditioners, etc. worth it or are they a waste of money, or worse yet, capable of causing more problems then they're worth? If there's one you like, let me know. I'm running a 110hp Yanmar diesel.

if you will use it often I dont see the point. keep the tank full to avoid condensation.

Yanmar only recommends FPPF fuel additive. I treat every gallon that goes into the tank. Over 1100 hours on my 4BY-150 and I have never had a fuel problem. When I change my fuel filters there has never been even a drop of water in the fuel.
