I'm shortly expecting delivery on a 2021 RT-27 with the new dinghy lift system. I have a new Suzuki 2.5 outboard to power the factory RIB dinghy included. (slow but sure  ) I'm just wondering where one might store the little motor or where I can put a bracket for it. I most definitely don't want it in the cockpit with the attendant oil and fuel spill issues. Has anyone come up with a plan/solution. Rowing is good, but I'm in Georgia and we have really strong tides and a motor is almost necessary.

FYI, I'm not buying the 9.9 auxiliary motor because it would be too heavy for me and the fuel and steering connections/etc. would be too much to continually accomplish. I'm not sure that it was ever intended for the dinghy anyway.

My solution is what you don't want to do. Store in the cockpit. I have a 6 hp Suzuki. The oil/gas spills I have not experienced. The carb compliant design should eliminate spills. The new 4 strokes do not smell, leak unburned fuel oil from the exhaust like the 2 strokes do. Before I remove the motor from the dingy I close the fuel valve and run the carburetor dry, then close the vent screw on the carb compliant fuel cap. I made a bracket that mounts to the cockpit rail. The motor is stored dry and clean in the cockpit. I have a full enclosure cockpit. I have left the motor stored in the cockpit with enclosure zipped up for a week while we were gone. When I enter the cockpit there is no odor of gas/oil. Hopefully you will find an option for swim platform storage. If not, I thought I would share my experience (in the cockpit)

When you click to build your r27 on Ranger Tug website there an add for $470 to install a outboard storage bracket. I don’t see any pictures. You can contact the factory and have them add it to yours when they are building it.

If you bought the option of the lift and dingy set up it comes with the motor store bracket.

Andrew confirmed that the dinghy motor mount is included in the lift option. A picture of it is shortly forthcoming at the company website.

Thanks for the prompt replies!
