Dinghy or Kayak?

HI all, I am interested in opinions regarding having an inflatable dinghy with snap davits on the swim step or using a kayak instead. We mostly cruise the puget sound region and go for short jaunts, birdwatching and getting to shore from an anchor. Has anyone tried the new Sea Eagle paddle ski kayak? see

Why not both?
Hard to bring back bags of groceries in a kayak. As your experience and range grows, having a dinghy to transport large quantities stuff off the boat and back to the boat will prove invaluable.
For fun, a kayak sounds great. We have 2 inflatable SUPs which are for fun. Again, why not set up for both?

This boat looks very similar to our 12’ Bris which functions more like a dingy then a kayak. I would look at the bris they are half the price.
