Got a 9' RIB with an 8hp 2 stroke: I removed the swim platform stanchions on my C28 so that with two lines crisscrossed and tied off on the platform cleats and running under the RIB I pull the RIB right up (just like having a weaver davit) and cleat it off. Easy. BUT, wondering if anyone out there has a good solution to mounting the outboard. I'm thinking on the platform door but don't want to bust that. Anyone got photos or a cool product or DIY project for mounting their outboard. The railings are set back so far that it would take 6-7" of something to get it to where the motor would be vertical. Thanks!

I would not put a motor on the door. Way too much weight. The location Barry has his seems to be the standard spot. Since your space is limited with the back rails, there are prefabricated motor mounts that will attach to the rail and won't come out as far. I made one out of two pieces of 5/4 pressure tarted attached to the top cockpit rail and made it long enough to attach the bottom to an existing screw through the rub rail. The long board also keeps the shaft from bouncing against the hull.

Thx for the input! Very nice looking mount Barry.
