Dinghy Recommendations for an R-25

We are anticipating the delivery of our new R-25 and are looking for an inflatable dinghy. Any recommendations?

We have a R25OB on order as well and are researching dinghy options, mounting and or storage locations, etc.and looking to find out what others have done as well.

We were at a local inflatable dealer yesterday here in OC California shopping alternatives for a light dinghy and motor that we could lift out and easily store. In the past we have always had our dinghy on davits or lift. The R25 is a challenge for either of these methods. These links are the items he showed us that could work. The quality of both seem very good, the weight of each would be easy for either of us to get out of the water and store

Costco has a killer inflatable at $599 here in OC SoCal. We have a 5hp Tohatsu propane for our current dink.

The Achilles LT-2 is light and easy to store. Here's a link. Limited to 3 HP, but that can work.

We're on a R-25 OB and got the Takacat 300LX for our family of 4. I moved the solar panel to one side and store the inflated tubes (strapped together) on the other. I can pull it down into the cockpit and get the floor and transom installed by myself. But when it's time to toss the tubes back on top it takes 2 of us to wrangle them up there.

We toss it into the cockpit or tow it when going from place to place if we're using it more often.

I built a bracket that I use to strap a 2.5hp Yamaha down in the starboard cockpit locker.

I saw the Takacat at a recent boat show and was impressed. It seemed expensive, but now that I have seen my boat and learned my lithium ion batteries take up the generator platform, I am reconsidering as the shape of the Takacat in bag may still stow. The cheaper more conventional inflatables in their bags are closer to square, where the Takacat in bags is more long and narrow. I also am considering the electric motor route, the ePropulsion was also at the boat show and seemed great.

For the smallest Takacat T260XL 8' 6" (3 people / 793 lbs):

We have the E-Propulsion Spirit 1.0+ pushing the Highfield UL260. Absolutely silent except for the sound of the water moving around the boat. Plenty fast for a ship to short.
