Without seeing it first hand, I can't say for sure what you're experiencing. Regardless, I would recommend trying a little scouring powder with some Scotch Brite (green) and see if that works.
If the stain is organic, you'll be able to tell by applying a small amount of bleach to the affected area and letting it sit for a few minutes. If it starts to dissipate, you can be pretty sure that it was organic. You can then remove it with a few more applications. Hope this helps get you started.
