Discontinued: GHC 10 Remote Control

My autopilot remote has failed and I would like to get this replaced. I recently discovered the "GHC 10 Remote Control" has been discontinued and wanted to know if anyone else knows where to source this item?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated,

There’s one for sale on eBay for an absurdly high $240 that says it’s “new” condition.

Try carefully cleaning battery contacts. If corroded will not work. Good luck.

Our remote also failed. Cause was battery corrosion had completely disintegrated one of the spring type battery contacts. Local Garmin shop could not deal with it and they called Garmin big house and they no longer support repair for this model. I went online and called Garmin and could not find a replacement for sale. Thankfully a local, old fashioned electronics repair shop was able to solder a new contact and we are up and running. Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the responses, I was able to find replacements in various locations on line. All were priced around 299 and up. I guess I’m too cheap, I can reach the autopilot just fine to manually make adjustments at that price. Plenty of other things to spend money on 😉

So the for anyone interested, my remote does function, the problem is that when I press one of the directional buttons it sends a exaggerated commands. For example if I press the 1 degree right bottom, the result is 10 degrees in the opposite direction… as you can imagine this can be quite an issue 🙂

I bought parts for battery holders and rebuilt mine. Took some effort as I couldn’t find an exact replacement for the spring.

I kept my batteries out of the unit until I needed to use it.
