I finally found a Volvo dealer that could do the engine swap. They're very busy with commercial work but they found the time to schedule me. I had to wait about thirty days for an appointment but they kept to their time frame and had the boat ready to go as promised.
Everything was covered by the Volvo warranty except for some minor work I had done that wasn't related to the engine. They took the boat off the trailer, swapped the engine, sea trialed it, and put it back on the trailer...all at absolutely no cost to me...and it was done when they promised.
The boat was clean, no greasy finger prints or rags left in the bilge. No cigarette butts, candy bar wrappers, skin books, old socks, or small tools adrift. I've found all these things and more in other boats I've had hauled. Not here. These people pay attention. Every fitting was tight and there was no work left undone. I was very pleased.
I brought the boat home and I've run it about fifteen hours since. Still no loose hoses or fasteners left undone. The new engine performs exactly the same as the old one.
If you're in the Bay Area or wouldn't mind driving there I'd recommend them. They also have their own dock and travel lift for launching.
The quality of work was worth the six hour drive each way. Here's a link.....
