I like the lines from Top-Knot that come with the Ranger Tugs.
I've tried, emailing and calling the company that makes them https://mooringlines.com but they don't reply to voicemail or email and they don't offer online ordering! Nuts.
Does anyone have a line (pun intended) on other 20 Strand solid braid 100% Polypropylene line with loops on one end? I don't want to learn a new skill to make my own - yet.
Thanks!

My friend ordered some lines 3 weeks back and took 2 weeks for them to respond. They are probably just slammed this time of year, they have good products and prices if you can wait and try again.

Good luck

Very impressed with the products from South Bend Rope Company. Different diameters, lengths and colors available. Splice looks to be excellent. It’s nylon rope which I prefer to polypropylene for dock lines. USA made. Bought a 5/8” 30 ft mooring line from them on Amazon.

Thanks for the tip!

Why do you prefer Nylon? Is the Poly stretch not preferred?

😱

Wow, well I may wait if no other options pop up. 2 weeks for a response!? How..? Hmm, just, wow.

Good read. Thanks for the link!

I'll get the lines you recommend - do you have an Amazon affiliate link?

This should get you into the South Bend Rope ordering choice section on Amazon.

I have been pleased with the product, pricing and selection from the Online Rope Store (www.onlineropestore.com).
It is a Canadian company, but I have had no issues having them ship to the US. I have no interest in the company, just a satisfied customer.

I prefer nylon vs polypropylene dock and mooring lines for the reasons outlined by BoatUS in this article.

+1 to this. We use almost all nylon, and reserve polypropylene (at most) for non critical usage such as second bow line or a tight midship tie to clear to hold the boat close to the dock. (If those fail, the regular set of nylon ties will be sufficient.)

Also the polypro lines that we received had stitched eyes (not braided) which would be another worrisome point.

Having said that, we have never had or heard of a failure with them.

BTW a good way to get Top Knot products (we like their dog leashes in particular) is at the Seattle Boat Show. Long wait from now of course!

Ordered lines from Top-Knot last month. Got them delivered to Alaska within a week. Very friendly and great service but you have to place the order over the phone.

This looks like an awesome company! Thanks for the tip!

I bought a couple of lines from the other recommend, South Bend Rope Company, but the reviews of "factory seconds" and delivered snagged lines have me worried. South Bend Rope Company also didn't seem to have a website - just a facebook page - so that's concerning too.

Do you use the 3 twist or the double braided?
I like the look and feel of the braided more - but the extra stretch of the twist sounds smart.
I did order a couple of "Davis Shockles LineSnubber" just to try them... (https://www.wholesalemarine.com/davis-s ... nesnubber/ had the best price)

We move lines around depending where we are, etc. ... but generally I use braided, mostly just prefer the look and feel. The bow and stern lines are oversized by one step, though.

For added absorption, we have a pair of the Swedish line snubbers on the bow and stern lines, https://a.co/d/bi1Heyc. (That price went up and I'd look around!)

Onlineropestore.com = Awesome

Bought several lines from them now and they are all super, extra, great.
