Hello. New to channel. New owners of a 2018RTCB, live on lower Chesapeake Bay. Trying to manage raw water head smells without converting to freshwater flushing system. Has anyone tried this airlock device with their AC system or put the airlock voyage device in their heads to see if it manages the order . Love to hear results

We put a commodorizer in ours. Works great so far.

Morning @DDean Did you have to change out the seacock strainer cups or did the Commodorizer screw into your existing sea strainer? I'd like to buy this but need to figure out if I need to swap out to the Jabsco unit.

I did the install on my C28. My raw water intake for the toilet was different than the manual and it seems even others boats. The toilet had its own thruhull with only a check valve, no strainer. I had to Ed the appropriate sea strainer. If you already have the right jabsco strainer it’s a very simple install.

Our 2017 C-28 has the same dedicated thuhull for the head. I thought ours was unique.

I cut the intake line and mounted the standalone unit on another new strainer in the line. All acquired via their website. I did not remove the strainer that the boat came with. Mounted it in the center laz, so far away from the toilet itself. I also changed the membranes in the back of the toilet - although I don’t know if that was necessary - I played it safe as there’s some concern with chlorine and some membranes.

It should solve any long term calcium issues too.

The tablets last forever (many months).

Thanks, everyone. I have a R25 with a Raritan macerating toilet - what are "membranes"? I'm new at this and not sure what they are or where they are located? Is there a check valve behind the toilet and in front of the black water tank. I also have no idea how I could get this this area...

My boat has 2 Groco 750 cup strainers - one for the head and one for the AC unit - https://www.groco.net/products/raw-water-strainers/basket-strainer/wsb-series
I'll look to see where I might add the Jabsco/Commodorizer or how that might work. Not really sure. Do I add one for the AC unit or will the chlorine do bad things for my AC?

Thanks in advance.

Correct, by “membranes” I mean this item: https://commoderizer.myshopify.com/collections/accessories/products/test

I am not sure if it will fit you application but it did mine. It was a fairly easy swap in for the piece that came with the toilet.

I would definately not put one upstream of an AC. Toilet only. And my personal belief is as far upstream from the toilet as possible as you want it to treat the water in the line and it’s probably more gentle on the toilet too. But I’m just speculating.

Hope that helps

Also- you can call the commodorizer people - they were very helpful when I was trying to figure out a plan for my boat.
