Ellen and I took our first mini cruise out on our new-to-us R25 today. I grew up in canoes, sunfishes, pirogues, and johnboats, so there was some anxiety with all of the bells and whistles to understand, but perfect weather and no traffic to navigate made it a great maiden voyage for us.( For those of you who new Commander Bill,we bought his old boat.)
Any hoo, after reading all of your comments about the attention the Rangers draw, sure enough we couldn't get off of the ramp without the only other person launching a boat coming over, asking about her, boarding the cockpit, peeking in,nodding his approval, even asking how much we paid for it! At least he didn't use the "C" word.
After finally getting under way, we had a very uneventful and wonderful afternoon cruising Tim's Ford Lake, where we plan to keep her for the summer while we get our sealegs under us,after that, who knows where! Then, after a successful return and uneventful placement in her new slip, it happened! Just as I thought I'd escaped the day without having to endure it,none other than the security guard comes walking down the dock, introduces himself, and before I could rudely interrupt,he said it! All I could do was fake a thankful grin, snicker under my breath that I knew it would happen, and hope this would be the first of many more wonderful afternoons spent on the darn CUTEST boat in the world!

Ok , I couldn't resist . My tug lives in mid coast Maine and the local lobstermen all say " it's wicked cunnin " I just smile and say "yessa ! "

I'm still sticking with "jaunty". I've made considerable progress.

Dave

I find that "perky" works well also - Had someone start to use the "c" word about my 21 EC here in Cayman the other day and when I said "don't say it!" they laughed and said it anyway. I said we prefer jaunty or perky. The latter seemed to draw smiles, so perky it is!
Bill
