Hi Manny, I am not really sure what you are referring to. You mentioned dual brand. Do you mean dual band? What make and model of radio do you have in your boat? What do you not like about your radio?
I have a Garmin in my boat. It has been ok. I added a second radio that is a Standard Horizon GX2000 radio. So far I have better reception with the Standard Horizon radio then I do with the Garmin. Now that may be due to I installed a slightly better antenna for the second radio then the factory one.

We had Pocket Yachts add a full size Shakespeare antenna for the Dual radio on our 23
Huge improvement in reception - and looks cool as matches other antenna.
Tried a window mount antenna from West Marine first - waste of time.

I have had similar issues with the stereo, sometimes the screen is blank, other times it works fine. If you add the bue tooth device or plug your smart phone directly for music it seems to overheat and the screen goes blank.
