Hi Gini and Colleen,
Looks great we will have our graphics done when the boat gets here and have already chose what we want just have to get the right people to do the job 😀

Cheers

Hi Gin and Colleen,
She is a fine looking vessel! We will also be on the Columbia River, probably upstream of Portland, so we look forward to the opportunity to see "Echo" in person. "Then Again" is being built in claret red.

Lenny and Louise, it looks like there is a growing (if only incrementally) Ranger Tug contingency in the Portland area. We will look for you too! I'm wondering where upstream of Portland you expect to be? And whether that "Then Again's" permanent moorage, or somewhere you will be temporarily (I'm noticing that you are from CA). We are tentatively hoping to make a trip to Hood River the first week of August or so, for an annual conference at the Hood River Inn. Any chance you will be as far upstream as that in August?

Sure do hope to see you on the Columbia! Claret red is our other favorite color 😉

When the name goes on, the boat is more than a collection of parts - it becomes a part of the family. Congratulations on your new boat, she is a real beauty!

Best wishes,
Jim B.

Jim B., so true. Hadn't really thought of the transformations that seem to begin once the naming occurs. As well as the boat becoming a part of the family, friends embrace the boat differently once they know it by name, and the boat's personality begins to emerge. What an adventure!

Gin,
Those are wonderful photos of a classy looking Ranger Tug. Congratulations.
I have been following your various posts, noticing your mounting excitement from a wanna-be to meeting tug people, to placing an order, and now----the name "Echo" on your very own R 27. Splashdown must be imminent.
I'm just over the hill, in Bend, where we're still skiing on Mt. Bachelor until May 26. After that, I may have to
look you up on the Columbia River. And, yes, Hood River is one of my favorite Oregon towns. I ride my
motorcycle up over Mt. Hood and down Hwy 35 into Hood River, where the great beer at Double Mountain brewery is worth the trip, or the beer at Full Sail, the better know brewery, overlooking the Columbia from its porch.
I did consider placing my R 25 in moorings at Hood River and commuting from Bend, but chose otherwise. Sold 2009.
I will be following your adventures with Echo in the great Northwest, specifically Oregon.
Thanks,
Charles

Charles,

Ah, a fellow Oregonian -- in Bend, one of our favorite parts of the state! Thanks for the congratulatory note. Sorry that you are boatless these days. Do follow our adventures -- we'll be posting about them. And shoot me a pm if you are headed to the Portland area and would like to step aboard. We'd be pleased to meet you in person if the timing works.

Yes, splashdown is getting close. Kenny will take Echo out next week for a shakedown cruise. Then the bottom paint will go on. Completion date looks like May 22. We will do our two day orientation on May 24 and 25, and after that, the factory will deliver the boat in Portland on May 28, if all goes according to schedule. (Amazing to think skiers will still be descending Mt Bachelor as we go through our orientation -- hope you'll be taking in the last of the season).

Thanks for the introduction, Charles. Hope our paths cross somewhere along the way.

Gini
