I towed our 2012 R27 from western New York to Kentucky yesterday. When I got home, every single switch on the A/C distribution panel was in the “ON” position, just as if they were on a gang bar. It somehow happened during the tow. The D/C panel switches were normal.

When I arrived home, as usual, I connected shore power to a garage outlet. I did not notice that all the A/C switches were in the “ON” position. It was completely unexpected because part of my procedure to disconnect from shore power is to turn off all A/C switches.

When I turned on the shore power using the rotary switch, all the green lights on the A/C panel lit up and the “Reverse Polarity” indicator on the rotary switch illuminated. It was quite a surprise because of my expectation that the switches would be off. I immediately switched off shore power and turned off all the A/C switches.

When I switched shore power back on and turned on the battery charger and port and starboard outlets, the “Reverse Polarity” light illuminated again, but very weakly. The only other electrical appliance on was the DC-powered refrigerator and a Bose Soundwave plugged into a starboard outlet. The garage 15 amp circuit breaker did not trip so I don’t think there was that great of a power surge.

I left shore power on overnight and when I checked it this morning, the “Reverse Polarity” Light was completely extinguished. I’ve not seen anything here on the forum about such an event, but has this or similar happened to you during tow?

Well, It is time to admit you may need to use a written checklist like you do on the plane. 😀 I would find it hard to believe that all the breakers popped on from a jarring bump in the road. As far as the reverse polarity? I have found that to be an issue when plugged into a GFI outlet at home. Why it would be on and then off? I have also seen it illuminate very slightly under the same circumstances. So it is either the GFI or the wiring in your garage.

It may be hard to believe, but it happened.

I have used the same garage outlet many times without issue.

You may want to change the name of the boat to Casper the friendly ghost! You got on this one.
