Hi Andrew,
I received an alarm code 155 IMT High and the SmartCraft Manual describes it as Secondary Manifold Pressure Sensor is not working properly. Non-Crirical - Service engine soon. Rubato has the150 Cummins and I have no Cummins manual for reference. All temps and pressures avaiable on the SmartCraft display panel appear normal. What can you tell me regarding the causes for this alarm?
Regards,
Roger

We had the same issue. That shrill alarm is really annoying. We could clear it but it would keep coming back.

Long story short, the sensor has failed and needs to be replaced. Cummins Northwest is understaffed and not able to schedule techs for the replacement - at least in our case. I bought the sensor from them and had it installed by a tech in my marina. It takes a few minutes to pop the old sensor out and the new sensor in, but it takes 2-3 hours to gain access and put everything back together. Not an easy task. If your engine is still under warranty they may be more accommodating.

The new sensor (made by Bosch) is a different design.

Good luck.

Bruce

Thanks for the explaination Bruce. I'll try to find the beast this weekend and maybe try the replacement, if I can maintain a high patience factor!

Thank you Bruce. This is certainly a failure with a sensor located near the alternator. Cummins has had quite a few of these failures. If you need help locating the correct sensor or part number, please call or email me directly and I can walk you through this. Thanks!
