Well, there is something new every day.

I went down to the boat for a look-see inspection after our first week of hard freeze.
When I inspected the bilge I noticed something concerning. ( Note: My boat is out of the water and shrink wrapped and drain plug removed. )

Down in the bilge aft of the aft bilge pump, on one side of the keel pocket, there was a loose flap of the cream colored internal "gel coat". I took putty knife to it and was able to pop off several loose chips, exposing the dark gray structural fiberglass beneath. An area that is maybe 3"x3".

So, is this simply cosmetic? The only worry being a clogged bilge pump suction? Not a small issue.
I don't see any more loose stuff.
Do I need to scrape some more (moving the bilge pump)?
I'm thinking now is a good time to let it air out and dry before a springtime slather of resin to seal everything up?

Is it simple as that?
OR do I have a larger project in my future?

How old is the boat? There is a five year warranty on the hull. Check with Ranger before you do anything. You don't want to void the warranty if one is still in affect.

Hadn't thought about that.
Will do. Thanks Kenny. Give me a day or so... after I get my shopping done.

Just to close out a posting, Kenny reassures me that it is just cosmetic and not to worry. He is, however going to get me a small container of gel coat to do a touch up.

Thanks Kenny and everyone else.
Merry Christmas.
