- looking to buy a Ranger Tug R25
On my 2008 R25 with a cummins/mercury engine when turning on the engine I get an immediate Engine Gear Pressure Input High alarm on the Smart craft system. Not really sure what this alarm is referring to? Turned the problem over to the marina mechanic on 9/15 and he found codes reading to sensors not on the system. He reset the codes to the factory settings and that seemed to take care of the problem. Started the engine last week and the alarm has reappeared. I can cancel the alarm and it doesn't reappear while the boat is in use but reappears after the engine has been turned off then turned back on. The marina mechanic will not be available till the end of the month so my question is can I safely use the boat with his alarm without doing damage to the engine? I think it may be a case of codes attempting to read sensors that are not there, but I am not positive.
