With everything finally running we got another unexpected surprise. The P-Code, P-0650 Engine Warning Light Malfunction, came up. This one scares me because one of the suggested causes is the ECU and we just replaced it at a cost of $2,700 after the lightening strike. Has anyone experienced this particular fault code???

Bummer...

When the ECU was replaced I wonder if its firmware was updated to latest version ? Ask whoever installed the new ECU if this was done. I have to believe a new ECU comes with a reasonable length warranty due to its expense at least. Also, installation issues should be covered by the installer especially if issues arise soon after the replacement.

A new ECU may need some tweaking to be compatible with everything else electronic on the engine... just a thought.

Good luck getting this resolved and post back what unfolds in having it fixed.
