Engines for the 29s

Looking to buy either a lightly used or new 29s and see that the engines have moved from Volvo 260 hp to 300 and now 320. Can you shed some light on performance differences in speed and fuel economy . Thanks

We have an R29S, 2018 with the VP D4 300 HP, which happens to be for sale. I’ll post the rpm, mpg items here but I sent you a PM on our for sale R29S.

Wide open throttle 3590 RPM’s, 19.6 MPH, 1.24 mpg

3440 RPM’s, 18.20 MPH, 1.27 mpg

2150 RPM’s slack tide, 9.76 MPH, 2.15 mpg

2120 RPM’s against current, 7.82 mph,1.82 mpg

1810 RPM’s, 8.35 mph, 3.78 mpg

2100 RPM’s, 9.43 mph, 2.16 mpg

2990 RPM’s, 17.6 mph, 1.68 mpg

That should be enough to compare against others. Keep in mind these figures come from salt water, fresh water. Some with current, some not and then there’s wind.
