Our stock 8' FM RIB has the Torqueedo 5.0 I find it pretty heavy to move around and am thinking about something lighter such as the ePropulsion units. Does anyone have any experience running these with the standard FM RIB dingy? Thank you.

I had an epropultion. Worked well unit was heavy but the battery separated so much lighter for each piece. Did about 4 knots.

I have no experience using the eProplusion with the specific dinghy you mention, but I have an Achilles 240 that I use with an eProplusion Spirit 1.0+. The two-piece configuration really makes it easy to transfer from boat to the dinghy in the water. The ePropulsion is great going boat-to-boat in an anchorage or to go to shore. It used it that way on a cruise last Saturday. If you want a dinghy motor to go six miles roundtrip to a waterside restaurant, the ePropulsion is not a good choice in speed or endurance.

We love our epropellsion spirit. We mount the motor first then clip the battery on. Motor weight is about 20 lbs and battery is 20 lbs. so easy to mount on the dingy. Under half throttle is several hours of battery life. WOT is 70 minutes and will do about 5 mph.
Just make sure when storing the battery long term that it is stored around 70 percent charged. And check the battery level every month. We had to replace our battery when I stored it at a low level and it would not wake back up to take a charge.
