My wife and I had this past week off for spring break and had plans to work our way through La Conner to Friday Harbor where we had reserved a room for a couple nights. On Tuesday, we had to make a decision about the weather. Forecasts were uncertain, but generally were not positive. In the end, we played it safe and decided to leave our 21EC in Cap Sante and take the ferry to Friday Harbor. This turned out to be the right decision. On Thursday the winds were just crazy.

The 21EC performed great and the Wallas heater was heavenly for the two nights we slept on the boat. Our only trip casualty was a driver-side wiper motor.

Here is a humorous picture from the return trip in Coupeville.

We just barely avoided disaster here. The previous day's storm had worked a huge bolt free so that it was protruding 10 inches from the dock parallel to the water but just above the waterline. Perfectly positioned to rip apart the hull of a docking boat. Luckily, we noticed it in time. We tracked down the harbormaster and she remedied it quickly.

Were you coming by Hat Island about 4-5 pm yesteday? John and I saw a 21 ft Ranger Tug going by as we walked the beach. You looked VERY good from our viewpoint on shore!
