I don’t currently own an RT. I am looking however.

Last weekend I looked at a Blue 2017 31S. One thing I noticed is that there is fading of the brows and decks. This is on a 2 year old boat. My current boat is 15 years old and looks almost new with not much effort going into keeping it that way. It is kept outside on the trailer in the winter and on Moore in the summer. I do a stem to stern detail every 3-4 years.

I am wondering how prevalent the fading I saw is on other RTs? The brows would be pretty easy to clean up but the decks and superstructure may be an expensive PITA to keep up. Thoughts?

Welcome to Tugnuts. What you describe seems to be typical fading of the gelcoat, colored eyebrows take a beating from the sun. If it is not maintained it will fade, the darker colors are the worst. I have a 9 year old blue hull that I detail myself every Spring. 3-4 months later it will need to be done again. Some owners have applied Awlgrip paint or have had the hull wrapped in vinyl. Do a search on this site for "fading" and you will find many threads on this topic.
Good luck with your search for a RT.
