Having an issue in the stern area of our 2019 27OB. There is a faint intermittent beeping in the stern area - it's not coming from the propane well or the live well under the barbeque. We've opened the main center hatch and listened for it and we don't hear it. We've done the same with the two side hatches. We've crouched on the swim step and put our ear to the Yamaha 300 and we can't hear it. It comes and goes - sometimes one beep - sometimes a few in a row. All quite for 20 minutes, and then a few intermittent beeps in a row. Any ideas?

Hathaway, I had a similar problem a few years ago on a new truck that I had purchased. It was a new F-350 Diesel dually, we had it for a few months and still had the new smell, I was getting ready to take some horses to Montana and getting ready for the trip I kept hearing a beep about every 20 to 30 seconds. I took it to the dealership and ask them to check it out! They told me it would be a week or two till they could check and fix my problem, naturally I got the salesman involved and requested my money back or a replacement truck. Well after the owner of dealership, the salesman and the lead mechanic spent about 30 minutes with my truck they came to me with a two-way radio that was wedged between the seats and told me if I put new batteries in it the beeping would stop! We still get a laugh about it, I left with my tail between my legs. Good luck finding your problem. Bob

Check the batteries on your CO detector.
That is the only thing that should be beeping in such a seemingly random pattern.

It could be coming from your CO monitor, propane sensor, inverter, battery charger, or solar power controller, depending on what you have on your particular boat.

Hello,

I assume you only hear it when the boat is moored at the dock? Also if you are only noticing it then I would disconnect from shore power and see if it might be coming from the charger. It being a faint beep that would be the only one I can think of, all the others have a noticeable beep and typically stay on till the issue is fixed or gone. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Check all your chartplotter alarms. I had one i could not identify. At a rendevous garmin rep found my fish alarm was on. Never caught any but they set the alarm off all the time.

Kevin - I disconnected the power and the beeping went away. Frankly though I still can not figure out where the beeping is coming from when I connect the power back up. Neither of the side hatches or center hatch. It's in the stern somewhere. Any further ideas for me to explore?

Hathaway - This may be way out there, but since you are looking at all possibilities now...If I recall correctly, on my 2019 27 OB the electric grill at the stern beeps when power is applied at the circuit breaker for the grill (the panel in the midberth). There is a safety switch at the grill that should prevent the grill from getting power if the breaker is switched on accidentally with the cover closed, but things don't always work perfectly and the safety switch could need adjustment.

You may want to try plugging in to shore power with all breakers off (good practice in any case), and flip one breaker on at a time to see if something beeps back there. If you hear nothing, open the grill cover and repeat the process and see if you hear the beep.

I definitely might be incorrect about hearing a beep (or beeps) when flipping the grill breaker on, but that's how I remember it when initially familiarizing myself with the boat and flipping that breaker on (grill cover open).

Drove me crazy on my old boat. It was the off course alarm on a handheld gps.

I agree with Benji. It sounds like the barbecue lid alarm. Unplug the barbecue from the ac outlet in the storage area beneath it and see what happens..

Benji, your suggestion sounds plausible. I'm going to be on the boat this weekend and will spend some time on the electric grill. I appreciate you weighing in.

Benji, you were right. Thank you for the idea.
