Features missing from 2026 C248

I am amazed at this boat and have only spent about 20 hours in it. My only other experience with a motor boat is a 1993 C-Dory 19' Angler, so a big step up.

But I am surprised that these three simple things aren't available as upgrades if not standard features.

1. Defroster or at least fan. There is a fan at the helm but only one and it's pointed towards the skipper, not the glass. I'll find some type of miracle chamois squeegee thing, but...
2. On that note, how about windscreen wash down? I have found that the salt buildup can make a big difference for clarity, often just on the windward side. I wasn't crazy about this on my old boat but hoped there'd be something on newer ones.
3. The LED lights only have one color and none of the lights have dimmers. It's 2025 and fancy lighting seems like it's really affordable these days.

Has anyone tried any modifications or found any cool ways to address this stuff?

For the fan, we just bought a dual head 12-volt fan with a clip on Amazon and clipped it onto the dash. It works great. We can remove it when we don’t need it, which is most of the time.

Not really thought of a windscreen wash down. We used Aquapel on our windshield, but there are other options too. Kevin Vanderheyden has something that he thinks is better. That keeps the salt water off the screen, and then we just rinse it when we get somewhere with a hose.

We haven’t really thought about disco lights in the cabin though. That’s an interesting idea. It can probably be retrofitted if you really wanted to.
