I have a "quarter" size chip in the topcoat in the Cockpit and a small chip in the blue hull by the bow. Can the factory send a patch/touchup kit?

The gel coat color is technically a hazardous material and difficult to ship. See if they can send it along with a boat delivery to your dealer. Once you have the color you can pick up the required materials locally.

Last year Ranger Tugs sent a small bottle of gelcoat to a local boat repair shop. The repair shop did all the the leg work. I believe it was easier for the factory to send the gelcoat to a business rather than an individual. Good luck

Sidetrack, When I received my boat, I received a set of bottles of gelcoat all of the colors that were used on the boat. They were in a cardboard box. Did you received such a box?

Auto paint stores, West marine, internet stores, and such will have gelcoat repair kits.
Here is an internet search term " fiberglass gelcoat repair kit's " that will get you there.

White is easy. The other Tug colors will need a bit of mixing to match. You can do it yourself. Just remember that a tiny off-shade on a chip or scratch repair that stands out like a sore thumb to you is invisible to people walking by on the dock.
If you are anal then have the marina or an auto body shop do the work.

Just use your regular white repair kit and tape off the repair area as small as reasonable to work in. Patch and sand out to a fine grit like 800. Pull the tape and buff the area. Then go find a decal you like and put it over the patch. It will look like you your expressing myself! My wife's car is covered in decals! Just kidding!

If you are still looking for gel coat let me know. I've sent it through our supplier as they are set up with the correct shipping companies and paper work to ship hazardous material. My email is kennymarrs@rangertugs.com

Thanks,
-Kenny
