Fire Extinguisher recall FYI

My local Coast Guard boat safety inspector recently pointed out my Kidde fire extinguishers with plastic handles were part of a recall kiddefxrecall.rsvpcomm.com
We submitted my recall registration form and several days later two new extinguishers were delivered to my door step. Return shipping labels and instructions were provided for the old extinguishers. Timed it well since the old ones were about expired anyway 😉

Several prior threads on the Kidde recall - some comments dating back to 2018.
Good reminder for new members. A few years back I received new ones under the recall after sending the recalled units back to them. They supplied a shipping box for the old ones and the recalled units were picked up at my front door. The replacements arrived in about 2-3 weeks. Good off season project!

Thank you for posting this! I’ve been on here for years, this is the first I’ve heard of this. Of course all three of mine are in the recall.
