Summary: It’s a whole lot of fun until someone has to poop
Just kidding about that, but 23 owners will know what I mean. 🙂
Took our first overnight trip (3 nights) on our 2019 RT23 and had a great time. The boat really does have all you need.
Things we found out:
- Driving in a light rain is great. Less boats on the water and the RT kept us comfortable and dry.
- Favorite evening spot is the cockpit. We set up two taller beach chairs facing aft, used our cooler as a table between us and put our feet up on the aft fold out seat. Way comfortable and could sit for hours listening to music and watching boats go in and out of the marina. (Also drinks were involved).
- The speakers are definitely not a weak point. We could have rocked the marina all we wanted, but kept things to a “polite” volume.
- V Berth sleeps well. We will be adding some extra topper or padding for our 50 year old plus bones. But really has more room than I expected.
- Easy to cook a full meal in the galley and eat it comfortably at the dinette. In no way cramped or feeling “less than” eating at home.
- Marina had good wi fi so we attached our iPad to the v-berth front mirror with velcro and streamed movies and TV to it. Worked great and no wiring needed.
- Toilet/Shower are perfectly workable once you get used the them, but nice when the marina has clean facilities also.
Things we will add:
- Boat is in now for a full canvas cockpit enclosure.
- Adding 200W of solar to the enclosure (we don’t have a generator)
- Mattress topper, etc.
- Magma grill on the swim platform.
- Will look at Inverter A/C whenever I can figure that out.
Just wanted to share our fun times.
I would recommend Bald Head Island Marina in NC for anyone on the East Coast.
