I have been puzzling about where to put flags on our C30.
Because our dinghy is in the way, I don't fly the primary US flag from the stern. Instead, US flag goes on the mast halyard below the anchor light. That is a problem to raise and lower it -- especially with our cockpit cover -- so unfortunately the usual situation is either up 24 hrs (not good) or never up (also not great but pretty common around the PNW). Ideas about other places and/or tricks to make it more accessible?
As for courtesy flag (in this case, for Canada) we don't have a spreader. It could go on the VHF antenna. Or the burgee staff on the bow -- that would at least be easy to lower etc. Any thoughts between those two?
