Has anyone come up with the most efficient way of flushing the seawater part of the Cummins engine cooling system?
I don't like the idea of taking off hose connections every time I use the boat.
Our R-25 currently lives in the water.

Dom,

Take a look at the setup on the R-21 EC. They have an adapter in the seawater line with a fitting that unscrews so one can connect a garden hose and flush the system. May be easy to adapt such a device to your seawater system.

This was an item the Albin 28s discussed for awhile and they began installing fittings in their seawater systems. The Albin 28s have a variety of engines ranging from 265 HP Perkins to 370 HP Yanmars, m/b even larger engines; I can't recall.

Thanks Gene.
I might just do that.

Prestone makes a cooling system flush T that can be installed in 5/8" hose if that is what is on your R-25. You should be able to find one at any big box auto parts store.

Thanks Eric. My raw water supply has an internal diameter of 1.25" so am looking for a larger "T".

Thanks again Eric.
It looks exactly the piece I require.
No problem with stepping down the threaded portion but must be careful as it is below the water line.
