I own a 2017 R31CB.

For some reason, my flybridge seat backs have failed.

There are 3 seats. The middle seat back and the forward one are in the worst shape. The furthest stern seat back is also failing, but still hanging in.

Somehow, water infiltrated each of the the seat-backs to a point where the wood has failed. The wood is soft and spongy and the anchors that hold the seat to the brackets are pulling out.

When the boat is not in use or in storage, I always keep the seats covered. Additionally, the boat is always covered for the winter (as well as the seats).

I also find that the hinges are incredibly stiff, regardless of lubricating with silicone.

Any suggestions?

Love the boat, but wifey is really unhappy about these not holding up.

Thanks,
Bobby

The seat back on our 2014 31CB rotted. Usually covered. Had enough left to use as a pattern for starboard replacement. Was able to reuse upholstery after removing hundreds of staples! Another place that should not have been plywood is port and starboard cockpit floor lockers. They get wet and rot. Have not figured out how to replace yet. Looks like they are under vertical panels holding a lot of stuff.
