Hi, we just bought a 2015 Ranger 27. We were given two fobs. One does not work. Do we need to get a new one from the factory. We tried to sync it to no avail. There does not appear to be a battery to replace or we just don't see it. Any thoughts/recommendations? Thanks.

Fob does not have battery. I got a new one from factory and programmed it with the electronics built into boat. I don’t remember how I did this. If these Fobs are like the modern car keys, there is an electronic piece about the size of a 1/10” long pencil lead embedded in the Fob. The fob has to be matched to the boat ignition even before it is programmed. In other words you need to get the correct unprogrammed fob. Just any fob can’t be programmed to your boat. So either you are programming it wrong or you have the wrong type of blank fob. If you get another fob, identify it right away or you will be sure to mix them up.
