Force 10 2 burner gas stove with oven and broiler. 2017.

Two questions:

1. Oven has never gotten up to good baking temperature.
2. Now Oven or Broiler won't stay on after lit. I know the whole thing about holding in button while thermo cutler heats up and I do that.

There is plenty of fuel. Thoughts? I've looked all over the internet and can't seem to find a part number for the regulator. It's not part of the stove, so not included in any manual.

Thanks,
Bob

Try calling Force 10 in Canada. I’ve always had good luck with them. We had three burner on our last boat and had our current stove installed to replace the electric that came with the boat. Also, did they move the igniter battery holder so you can get at it?

We keep our 29 at the MDYC on Rock Creek.

Thanks for the input, but don't suspect a thermal coupler and here is why. Both my oven AND broiler (which are separate), will stay on as long as I hold the dial in. Once I let go (after a good warm up period), either one does not stay lit. The gas burners work fine. I don't suspect two different thermal couplers would go bad at the same time.

Does anyone know what regulator I might need?

Thanks for the tip about contacting Force 10 directly. I'll do that next.

Brad at Force 10 in Port Coquitlam, BC, says the regulator pressure spec is:

0.44 psi
30 Millibars
11.5 to 12 inches of water column
(Those are all equivalent.)

He recommends a good quality regulator like the Trident. Like this one:

We visited Brad at the Force 10 facility in Port Coquitlam. He is very helpful. He did some troubleshooting and fixing on our stove while we waited. When I pulled out my wallet before leaving he said, "no charge." A class act.

Still sounds like it may be a thermocouple issue. When you hold the knob in it is manually allowing the gas out of the valve at the unit.. When the thermocouple gets heated enough it should register the heat and allow the valve at the oven/broiler to stay ignited. If your issue was the main regulator valve I would think you would not be getting proper gas to ignite in the first place. Could be the valve at the unit. I do agree that having two different thermocouples fail at the same time seems unlikely. I'm no Force 10 expert so a call to them first is in the cards.

Just remembered... Here is a link to a page describing the procedure for cleaning the orifice in the gas line that goes to the oven:
http://www.force10.com/files/documents/ ... rifice.pdf

Definitely could be preventing your oven from getting up to temp as well as not staying lit. The broiler could be a different issue. The instructions say to clean out the orifice with forced air or a cotton swab soaked in alcohol. A person at Force 10 told me I could also use a wooden toothpick, but nothing metal. Also, not on the written instructions, the Force 10 representative told me to turn on the gas to the oven for a short burst after the orifice was removed to clean out any debris that might be in the pipe. Sure enough, a tiny black bead of some kind of plastic came out of the pipe. This was evidently what had been preventing our oven from getting up to temperature. I had been dubious about cleaning the orifice because at the time it didn’t seem like we had used the oven enough for it to get dirty. But the procedure worked.
