Hello, I have an R27, and the two-burner galley range alarm goes off every time I start the engine. It says danger on the dial the propane is off any idea why the alarm goes off every time I start the boat up?I start pressing the buttons, and it finally goes off
Thanks

Jim

No good idea, except I would say to make sure the propane is turned off on the canister. And a propane sniffer may help to track down whether there is a source (or give comfort that it's a false alarm while solving).

They are cheap backup. I've used this one: TopTes PT199 Natural Gas Leak Detector with Audible & Visual Alarm, Portable Gas Sniffer to Locate Combustible Sources Like Methane, Propane for Home(Includes Battery x2)-Orange https://a.co/d/2fV0xDd

Our previous RT R27 had the same problem and at times also would turn on the propane alarm for no reason. Replacing the sensor did the trick. No more problems. There are several other posts here on Tugnuts white the same issues and it seems like all of them where corrected with replacing the sensor. Which in most cases on an R27 require removing the stove.

A good idea is: Is there a photo of the Sencor, or is there a YouTube video that shows how to repair it or order the part ?

Thanks

Jim

Hi there,

It also depends on the age of your detector. They have a service life that should be around five years, but can "expire" a little earlier as well. There should be a manufacture date on the unit (rear) that should help give you an idea.

Cheers,

Ralf

OK, how do I get to this FACTORY REP? Ralf
Thank you
