I cleaned my shower sump today. When I opened the access hatch to the forward bilge I was met with a strong fowl order. (The smell was not coming from the shower sump but from the bilge itself.) Any advice on how to clean this area? I would like to use a garden hose with a spray nozzle and some mild soap sprayed into the bilge. I assume this will drain into the aft bilge since there is no pump that I know of in the forward bilge, can someone confirm this? Is there anything in the forward bilge that would be harmed by this cleaning? Is there any electrical wiring in this area? (Other than the 12 volt wires for the shower sump pump.) Anything else that could be damaged by mild soap and water? I can see very little from the access hole but it looks like I can hose down quite a bit of it, I just cannot see what I will be spraying. Thanks.
