I just broke down and purchased a "real" stern tie reel, so would be happy to give away my old homemade reel (line not included) to a fellow Tugnut. It may not look super professional, but it works well and holds a lot of line (600 feet of 3/8").
It is made out of copper plumbing pipe (spray painted silver), maple and uses a Samson Float Line spool. See picture in my photo album here: gallery2.php?g2_itemId=64619
I have used this reel on my 2011 R27 (hanging off the stern rails) and on my 2016 R31 (hanging off the swim platform rails).
Location is Puget Sound area. Let me know if you are interested and we can figure out how to hand it off. For any RT owners on the C Dock in La Conner WA (e.g. Cerise), it would be really convenient.
