A couple of years ago I had a problem with the line from the fresh water tank to the pump inlet getting pinched and Ivan just about had to dismantle the starboard side of the boat to find the problem. He wound up replacing the line but now it seems to have occurred again. The symptom is the fresh water pump is not priming and barley pumps any water. The initial flow is fine but within a few seconds the flow drops off to a trickle. I have removed to faucets to make sure they're not clogged and there are no visible leaks. Any thoughts?

My fresh water pump has a strainer on it that I have to remove and rinse off on occasion.

Just went through this morning,my sink was just a slight trickle, the faucet screens were clogged something terrible, now it's like a fire hose.

I've taken the faucets off and that doesn't help and the strainer looks clean. Last time, the hose from the tank was pinched by something and I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this?

There are several screens that can g clogged. Depending on year, the 25 you have may even have a screen where the water feed lines clamp onto a threaded fitting. Then there is the infamous check valve at the connection for the center supply head where the flex hose connects to the ridged fitting.

In addition to what Knotfying wrote check the following. Remove the water intake lines under the sink. Have someone turn the pump breaker on while you hold the lines over a pan and check the water flow. If the flow is good the problem is in the faucet. With the supply lines off stick a wire up the faucet lines. If it only goes up a couple of inches you have screens in the supply lines also. I removed the faucet assembly to break through those screens. You can also remove the faucet handle to get at the guts of the faucet to check for obstructions.

If the pump runs continuously while faucet is open but not enough flow then the problem is on the suction side of pump. If not getting enough flow but pump cycles on and off while faucet open then the problem is downstream of pump.

That will focus troubleshooting.

Looks like I have some great suggestions for how to spend my weekend.
