Hi, I've got a warranty repair issue on our 2021 R-31. The 60 gallon fresh water is only useable to about 1/4 tank, at which time the water pump makes a loud hammering sound that sounds like a tank running dry.
Apparently the tank outlet to the water pump covers and uncovers when the boat rocks, and this is causing the water pump to gulp air and lose its prime. The water continues to flow and we're able to run the tank dry. I don't think this is healthy for the pump though.
Recommendation by our boat mechanic is to relocate the pump to a lower part of the hull. Just not sure how this will solve the problem of air being introduced into the line since it's being introduced at the tank outlet and not the pump.
Curious if anyone else has encountered this problem, and what they did to solve it?
