Pulling up to dock today and the front thruster was making some weird noise. Then it stopped working to port but works to starboard. When the shear pin goes I thought it would stop working entirely. We’re on a weekend trip so I don’t want to start pulling it apart and leaving it apart since we need to use the vberth. I’m hoping to get a better sense of if this could be the shear pin which I can probably handle mid trip or something more which should wait until we’re home.

My stern thruster worked only one way. I tried the remote instead of joy stick and remote only worked one way too. In ten minutes, I narrowed down to a pin connector at the thruster motor. There is a multi-pin small screw in connector. One of the pins was corroded a little. Clean it with vinegar and it has been working for four months. Hopefully, this helps. You may have a different type problem.

Can also be a failed solenoid at the motor, same symptoms.

I had that issue last season one time out.
Then - fixed itself. I surmised I had seaweed in it.

Thanks for the suggestions. It seems to be working now both directions fortunately but once we’re back home I’ll check all the connections and clean them if needed.

Thank you. Same issue on my 28 CW, and seeing as I took on some water awhile back, I suspect this well maybe my problem. I'll check it out next time I'm on the boat.
