Newer 27OB: my ski pole is stuck mostly down. I can get it raised 2 or 3 inches with effort, and back down. Curious if there is a solution beyond removing the poke and beating it apart, and if so, how does it remove? 4 screws on top, appears to sit in a socket on the bottom. Thanks, gregg Carlson

Hey Gregg,

You can remove those 4 screws but sometimes you can use some dry spray lube to help get it to slide out, also there are bolts at the base of the whole ski pole that holds it to the hull of the boat. I would try some dry lube and twisting up and down, typically you can find this lube at a marine or auto parts store. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Thanks Kevin,

Yes, I have sent lots of lube down the tube, which is easy when you get the neck at the right place, to no avail. I did remove the 4 screws, but you've got bedding or maybe 4200 under the flange. What I can't tell is if I have to unbolt the bottom socket also, or just break the top flange seal and pull it out.

Oddly, the pole will move up/down a couple of inches, but it won't turn - seems to be some kind of anti-turn pin inside. For such a simple device, it's confusing!

My idea was to extract the whole affair and bring it home.

Thanks - Gregg

Hey Gregg,

I believe if you remove the top flange where the pole comes through then that will expose the pole itself and you can then see if what the issue is and clean as necessary.

Thanks,
