At least 6 Ranger Tugs will rendezvous at Moss Marine (Ft. Myers Beach) around the February 6th date. Some will arrive earlier and some a bit later, but several will be overlapping in their dates. Moss Marine has plenty of slips and boater privileges include a boaters lounge. If you wish to dock at Moss Marine, call this number and ask for Michelle: 239-765-6677. There is a 30 foot minimum at $1.75/foot/night plus $5/night for utilities

If you will be in that area in February, please send me a PM so that you can be added to the list of Tugs who are sharing their private contact info:

Name(s)
Boat name
Cell phone
Email address
Other info

All info gathered will be re-distributed, but ONLY to all those on the list (for security reasons).

If you haven't already contacted me, please think about it and join us for some Tugnuts fun!

Dale,

Thanks for finding the Marina and getting us better organized! Jess & I are looking forward to meeting everyone.

Sincerely,
Mike & Jess

Ted & Donna,

I believe 4 of the Tugs are moored in Ft. Myers Beach for an extended period during Jan, Feb, Mar. If you will be there anytime during that period, you can meet up with several of us outside of the Feb 6th date.

So that we can contact you, and you us, send me a PM with the following private info and I will include you in the list that I re-distribute of those Tugs in the Ft. Myers Beach area during 2012 Winter (for security reasons, this list is ONLY distributed to those that have provided their private info):

Name(s)
Boat Name
email address
cell phone
other relevant info (such as itinerary)

We own an R29 and have it docked at the Landings in Ft Myers, FL. Unfortunately I will be getting a new hip on Jan25 so will not make the rendez vous but will be available for future get togethers. Sounds like a lot of fun. Jerry

Okay folks, it looks like there will be at least 8 Tugs at Moss Marine around Feb 6. Also, 2 more Tugnuts might drive in, without their Tugs, for the rendezvous.

Time is getting short, so sign up now. Or, just call Michelle (239-765-6677) at Moss Marine to reserve a slip. Ask for Dock B to be with all the other Ranger Tugs.

Hi Dale

I have booked a slip at Moss Marine for Feb 6th. Michelle said that it is the last one on B dock. That makes 8 Ranger Tugs.

We look forward to meeting other Tuggers!

Jim and Geraldine

Haven't booked a slip yet. May be a day late as our team is in the SuperBowl and we may stay in Punta Gorda area for the festivities.

I talked to an R27 owner today who said that he is the 10th tug to reserve a slip at Moss Marine for the Feb 6th time frame. For those that have contacted me (with names, email, phone #, vessel name, Florida location, and time frame for Ft. Myers Beach, etc), I will distribute today the most recent list of tugs that will be at Moss Marine. Send me a PM if you want to be on this list.

If you haven't signed up yet at Moss Marine, call Michelle (239-765-6677) at Moss Marine to reserve a slip.

Well, this is the appointed day and the tugs are starting to show... We have four at the dock, a fifth that was here for a visit yesterday and coming back today and a total of ten booked for a berth...
To you Tugnuts on the upper left coast this is a yawner, but to us it is pretty exciting...

Watching Jim with the big fork truck lifting Gipetto off the trailer was a sight.. I have a photos but unfortunately the cable to plug into the camera is back in Michigan... I will try to borrow one to post with... The Readers Digest version is that instead of lifting the boat a few inches and backing away from the trailer - Jim lifted it high enough to clear the trailer guide posts (nose bleed territory) and simply swiveled 90 degrees and set Gipetto down in the water (way down)... Ted and Carol should get miles for that flight - their very first launch of their brand new boat and trailer...

So, we have two brand new 27's on hand... Going through these 012 boats show how far Ranger has come in their thinking and building... Makes the 09 Charlotte Ann look like a poor relation come the family reunion in patched clothes... But that is probably how it is in the grand scheme of things... I am sitting here just after dawn in a tee shirt, the boat windows open and perfectly comfortable... The best part is the peanut butter on my breakfast...

cheers - and wish you were here

See you guys in a little while. We spent the night in a private slip just 16 miles up river from you. We met another Ranger in Clewiston going east and they said we could use their slip. Ranger people are the best!!

Mike & Jess

Greetings from Tuggin Aweigh-
Wouldn't you know it--the flight to return home for a granddaughters birthday and a visit with a new 9 week old, plus two other grandchildren was scheduled before the Rendezvous was set for February. Drats. After helping Gippeto unload their truck and see their first launch, (It was actually more fun to watch Ted when Gippetto was 8+ feet over head than watch the actual launch), we prepared Tuggin Aweigh for one weeks' dry storage.

Dale and Karin-take notes and fill us in on the "stimulating" conversations that will be had over a glass or two of wine.

We'll take heart knowing that we'll be back on the 14th! Keep us posted!!

PS--It's 29 degrees, cloudy and cold in Illinois. 🙁

Frank,

I feel your pain about the weather, since it was also terrible in Ft. Myers Beach today - heavy rain for several hours, overcast the remainder of the day, a high of 80 degrees, and only 69 degrees at 9:00PM. 😀 And yes, we are all taking heavy conversational notes and lots of pictures just for your benefit. 🙂

Since some of the tugs are headed south to Key West in the next week or so, you might hook up with them for your planned trip to Key West.

Also, there was discussion tonight about having another Tug Rendezvous in 2013 at about the same time of year at Moss Marine - with Ranger Tugs being invited to participate. I seemed to be nominated to arrange that rendezvous, so I'm naming you as my First Officer to do most of the preparatory work.

We spent a lovely night on the hook at Ding Darling, Sanibel Island. The weather yesterday was not bad at all. It just slowed us down a bit. Looking forward to meeting you all today!

Wish I could come for a visit but this whole Miami Boatshow thing and running a dealership kinda gets in the way . Y'all have a great time down there!

It's being called the largest, sunshine state (Florida), Ranger Tug Rendezvous in the world!

With 11 Ranger Tugs in attendance, we feel the First Annual Ranger Tug, 2012 Southern Rendezvous is a great start for Ranger Tug owners in the tropics. The festivities included a dinner out at Nervous Nellie's, just under the bridge by the marina, and a great pot luck Tuesday night in the marina's boaters lounge.

In attendance (at one time or another over the last few days) were: Charlotte Ann, Gipetto, Illusions, Kismet, Little Toot, Moor Than, Roam, See Life II, Tangent, Tuggin Aweigh and Namaste. Several of us will be here through the weekend continuing the fun and sharing, so if you're in the area please stop by Moss Marina @ Fort Myers Beach, Florida.

That's outstanding. So great to see familiar and new faces gathered to share the Ranger Tug experience. Nice job. Wish we were there with you. Thanks for posting the pictures.

Cheers,

Bruce & Vicki

Jim & Lisa: Thanks for posting this. Things are certainly revving up on both west and east coasts... and hope that A/C is still pumping water overboard.... (joking now) 🙂

Great to see some familiar faces and new ones too! As Rich of Roam has said before, when you buy a Ranger, you join the "cult". I think you're really joining a boating family. Thanks for posting pictures. . . .

Here in the PNW, this was a perfect winter boating week. I hope some of you got out on your tugs and enjoyed the sun and view of the mountains as we on the Laurie Ann did.

Laurie and John

Definitely a Cult.. with a capital 'C'.. no quotation marks necessary
