Hello Friends,

General maintenance support, both her and by the factory, has addressed the primary and secondary fuel filters, but I have not heard anything about the brass 110a gasoline/diesel fuel filter water separator that is also mounted in the engine compartment. This device sits prior to the other filters.

Is this an item that needs regular maintenance? Should it be periodical drained and checked for water? Is there an internal filter that should be replaced yearly.

Thanks in advance.

Bobby

I’m not familiar with the setup on your boat but if you’re asking about the Racor 110a fuel filter it is usually the primary ( first in line) fuel filter. It has a cartridge inside and needs to changed regularly usually at the same time you change the secondary filter.

The Racor 110A on the 25SC is for the generator.

Same on my R29 Classic. Services my 5KW Onan genset. Co-located with my fuel transfer pump (transfers fuel from the genset tank to the main tank).

Thank you all for the quick schooling. Makes total sense. I must’ve confused the two fuel lines. Guess you all know what I’m up to for the last few days. Just getting ready for the next adventure!
Hope to see some of you on the water soon.
Best, Bobby
