I’m a recent owner of a 2013 R 29 and it doesn’t have a fuel gauge other than the calculator on the chart plotter. I was looking at the tank to see if I could add one and found what I think is a wire from a fuel gauge sending unit in the tank (pictured attached). Does anyone know where these wires may lead to? Even better yet has anyone installed a fuel gauge using these wires?

What Engine? Our 2011 RT 27 with the Yanmar engine has a function on the Engine Display that shows the fuel level, and a section for GPH used, and on the Garmin Panel we show the fuel use, level, fuel distance available, and Avg. Kt Miles/Gallon.
This is way above my Pay Grade, but I am sure the Engine reports this information to the Garmin panel thru some magical route. A stand alone Fuel Gauge for me is redundant, but if those wires have a float in the tank it should read on a typical add on fuel gauge.

We have Volvo D4 260. We do have the engine calculation on the chart plotter but I would like to have a stand alone gauge.
