Back in January on a windless day we went out of Redwood City on our R27 to south of the Dumbarton Bridge. Turned off the engine while we had a quiet lunch. After about 40 minutes tried to start the motor. She turned OK but didn't fire; suspected fuel delivery problem. Tried several more times over the next 30 minutes; same thing. So called Vessel Assist who arrived about 90 mins. later having come from North Beach (San Francisco) and they towed us back to Redwood City (I have full towing insurance). The next day Jim Drake of Drake Marine came and found the fuel pump relay (in the engine control unit) didn't work. A replacement worked fine UNTIL two weeks ago when we had the same symptoms (this time at the dock). This time not only was the relay bad but the socket it mounts in was badly charred. Tony from Drake Marine allowed that Yanmar has a new electrical harness which is now on order which includes the relay socket. He also checked the fuel pump which appears to be fine. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
