Fuel strainer

I am about to remove the fuel strainer in the polypropylene fuel tank on my 2011 R25sc. My question is which fitting do I remove to take out this strainer? My assumption is that it is at the end of the fitting with the closing valve but do not want to be wrong as these fittings look prone to leak after removal.
